Community Transit of Western Community Action is a public transit service providing transportation options for all people throughout Southwest Minnesota.  Lift-accessible buses are available throughout our primary service area, which includes Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray and Redwood Counties. Volunteer drivers provide rides to destinations outside the primary service area or when buses are not available.

Murray County has access to a to the Community Transit fleet of over 20 lift accessible buses that can provide door-to-door or curb-to-curb, dial-a-ride service.  Route service is also available in some areas.  Community Transit is committed to helping people get the transportation they need, even if that means looking beyond ourselves. If we can’t get you where you’re going, we’ll make every effort to help you find someone who can.

Bus schedules are created to meet the travel needs of passengers who sign up for services in advance. When you book your ride, the dispatcher will attempt to fit the desired pick-up time into an existing schedule. The dispatcher will suggest an alternate pick-up time if your specific request cannot be met.

Group rates may apply for 6 or more people requesting a ride from the same pick-up and drop-off locations.  Call a dispatch office for specific information on booking groups.

When a trip request cannot be fulfilled using buses, volunteers step in to fill the gaps. This may include trips to out-of-area locations or short trips for people whose needs make a volunteer driver the more logical choice.
