MURRAY COUNTY GOVERNMENT UPDATES

    • The Recorder’s Office
      • Will be able to accept documents in paper format either through the mail or drop box and will continue to accept eRecordings during the time the Government Center is closed to the public. 
      • Passport applications cannot be accepted at this time.
    • BEGINNING MONDAY, APRIL 6 The License Center will begin processing all Motor Vehicle Transactions from the Drop-Box and Mail! Your tabs/plates will be mailed out to you at no extra cost. Please continue to drop off and mail Renewal Notices to our office. Over the counter, face-to-face services are prohibited, but we will be in the office to answer phone calls 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday thru Friday until the Governor lifts these restrictions.
      • TAB RENEWALS can be dropped off in the Drop-Box by the door at Murray County Government Center or they may be mailed to PO Box 57 Slayton 56172. Please Include:
        • Renewal Notice
        • Insurance Information
        • Your Phone Number
        • Payment by check is preferred – NO CASH. Make checks payable to “Deputy 80”. If you wish to pay by credit card, please provide that information.
        • We ask that you do not mail them to St. Paul, keep the revenue in Murray County!
      • We cannot process any drivers licenses or identification cards at this time. When our office re-opens we will be making appointments to renew Driver’s Licenses.
        • The Real ID Requirement has been extended to Sept 30, 2021!
        • Gov. Walz signed a bill into law March 28 that provides an extension for Minnesotans whose Driver’s License, Instruction Permit, Provisional License, Commercial Operator’s Permit, Limited License, and Farm Work License expire during the peacetime emergency. The expiration dates are now extended for two months after the month the peacetime emergency ends.
